NEW PROJECT for 2017/18: A PIECE FOR PERCUSSION QUARTET & ELECTRONICS:
Robert Van Sice is commissioning this new piece for his newly created Percussion Collective. The should be a very substantial work, in 3 or 4 movements, lasting at least 25 minutes. This work would involve developing the most complex and integrated use of electronics and percussion instruments that I have produced so far.
I HAVE FINISHED COMPOSING a new movement 'Of Melody & Pulse' of Estudios de Frontera: this movement was commissioned by a consortium of players and percussion studios organised by Michael Burritt. The complete version of Estudios de Frontera with this new middle movement was premiered by the Eastman Percussion Ensemble the 22nd of November, 2016.
I HAVE FINISHED 'MADERA VIENTO Y METAL', a piece for marimba & electronics: this piece was commissioned by Jeanni (Jingli) Zhang, percussion professor of Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, China. The piece is 10 minutes and 20 seconds long and will be premiered in March 2017 in Beijing, China.
RELATIVE RIFFS, for percussion trio: completed & premiered in September 2015.
This work commissioned by a consortium organised by James Beauton and TALA RASA.
