Programme notes

Technically the title of the piece refers to the rhythms, pulses and time signatures of the music which are constantly moving, changing like itinerant nomads.
At the same time the piece draws from more than one tradition moving between them in a flexible way. It is also in this sense that the spirit of the piece is nomadic. I have always believed that belonging in more than one tradition does not lead to formless chaos but can result in a freer yet highly organised musical discourse.

A nomadic spirit is one which is unwilling or unable to stay long in the same physical or psychological space. The nomadic condition is unstable.
I sought in instability a source of richness and playfulness which I hope the listener will enjoy as much as I do.
